Background
Knight Models is a fairly new company from Spain producing white metal and resin figures from comic and film franchises. Knight Models has already got the licence's from Marvel comics to produce their Superheros and also has the Star Wars licence.
The Marvel universe range of figures are approximately 1/27th scale or 65/70mm average height from heel to eyes. There are eight models out already with I believe three more due in September.
The Star Wars figures haven't been released as of yet.
All the models released so far are a deluxe limited edition sets and are limited to 500 sets apiece.
The kit
The model comes packed in a tin box with reference pictures on the back of the box of the painted and assembled figure. Upon opening, a character bio card with the limited edition number of the kit is found. Unfortunately the bio card is printed in Spanish, so I can't read that bit. The number of my kit is 298, not that that matters to me much as I am not collecting the kit to squirrel away for future sales.
Also included is a black plastic pedestal emblazoned with the Marvel Universe logo, which is used to display the model on.
The five white metal parts are sandwiched in between two thick foam inserts with the metal base, body, arms and head in separate sealed bags, so packaging is top notch.
Flash is non existent and only a small seam mark was detected on the main body, so clean up is quick and easy. The detail is of a high quality, with each armoured plate separated by a shallow recessed line.
All the parts of my kit went together with out the need of filler or trimming.
This Iron Man model is based on the 2008 movie, so purists might get a bit upset that its not a true comic Iron Man. The height of the finished kit (not including the metal or plastic base) is about 75mm. |
