I am thinking GW inquisitor and retinue trying to close a Tyranid infestion hole with spores, tyranids and slimy gore coming from the infestion hole....

I have no layout settled yet, but I am working on it slowly, but surely....

I've joined too... just to give SciFi a try!
Just a question about the rules and regs, to make sure; are vehicles also elements? If so a dio with 2 vehicles would do?

Paul, I think you're going to need some kind of base to go with the vehicles. But as far as elements go the rules do say vehicles, so the end decision will come from BM2.

Hi guys

I have already started on my diorama. I broke open a box of "space station" elements from Hexagon last evening. After a few hours of fiddeling I came up with a good layout. The parts are not yet glued, but will be soon before painted.

I am making a WH40k diorama. The basic scene is not totally set yet, but it involves a Tyranid infestion and two imperial storm troopers getting ready to clease the space station. One of them a sergeant and one a flame thrower trooper.

I assume it is allowed to have the figures on individual bases? In this way they can also be used in WH40k games. Could the campaign top man please rule on this?

I signed up a few days ago i will be building a dio called Victor and Vanquished, there will be 2 S.F.3.D. figures one will be standing over the other proudly showing his victory. the pics of the first figure will be of the looser . Almost all of the construction has been done i also added few details like the weld seems, almost ready for paint.

Ok, with my tour of duty with the post office over the holiday season over as of 00:00:01 1-5-08, I'm in.

Tentative title, "No you idiot, you're looking for the Secret REBEL base!"

OK, figured mine out also; the good old TB-2 hoovering above some platform that's sinking in the sea. I have the IMAI kit in my stash.

Thunderbirds are GO!

I think that a Thunderbird and a platform with a water base would qualify nicely The TB2 would be an element the platform would be an element ant the water base would qualify as a dio! The only reason for the somewhat picky rules are to keep the "figure on a base with a patch of grass" from showing up - the real purpose is to build a scene which conveys a story and TB2 in the midst of a rescue is exactly what I meant. -this sounds like a real fun project - I love the thundrbirds- Thunderbirds Are GO! - totally FAB!

Jesper - that beast of a base looks pretty cool. Very different.

We've got some people really moving. I've got one of my scouts done and a base coat (to show flaws) done, the other is 90% done. Should finish up the contruction by this weekend. I'll try to shoot some photos.

Looks like I'm going to be sitting this one out after all. I had another round of surgery on my knee and the workshop didn't get finished/moved into.

Oh, and it was going to be two NuBSG Vipers over the surface of the DeathStar (but not in the trench) chasing a Raider in 72nd scale.

Oh well, maybe this summer I'll get to start this.

Preliminary set up of my Turok, Son of Stone, entry for the Sci-Fi/ Fantasy campaign:

Elements were moved slightly when I laid down a coat of Celluclay (mixed with white glue, water, brown acrylic paste, railroad ballast and turf). The blue masking tape is where the name will go.

Low level view of the charging raptor.

Why is the raptor leaning against the tree?
“Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! I have an arrow in my flank. I hate when that happens.”
(The Styrofoam is only there to give contrast to show the arrow, a cut down PE feather from the Seil Woodland Indian kit.)

Al - Great blend of genres and 'times'. I like the balance it has. Any way to bend the tail of the back right one to make a loop back into the diorama, bringing the view back in?

Robert - nice jointing on the MaK, good solid weld lines too. Where did the binocular things go?

Thanks Scott, the binocular things are now on the left hand side. The layout will go like this, this guy will be laying face down in a drainege ditch or dryed stream bed at the top of the hill will be the other armored suit looking down on his victim.

John,
I said I was going to tick off the purists!

Al,
The Dino Dio looks great so far. Can't wait to see this one done.

Robert,
Nice job on the MaK.
