Hi Guys, just found your site, have ordered the Trumpter FAUN transported (built it once before) and the DML 3522 Nato MLRS kit, i know it is not the exact kit used by the german army (mars), my question is what are the differences between the two (nato MLRS and German MARS) i have also orderd the Eduard MARS detail sets

thanks for your help

Jason,

One of the high visible difference is that the MARS has side skirts to cover the tracks. I think it was a change to make the MARS "road legal"
The MARS also uses the covers on the rear of the launcher.
I'll have a look at some photos to see if there's more.

Gr,
Marcel

Hi Jason,
there some minor modifications of the latest MARS, which are very well covered in the Revell/Germany kit. Gimme your e-mail adress and I send you some scans out of my archive.
Best Regards
Hans-Hermann from Germany

Hi Jason
You'll find some MARS walkaround pics on Panzer-modell.de that may help :

ok guys, thanks for the pics Hans-Hermann, will go a long way to help detail the MARS, now for another question.

i am struggling to find tie downs to tie the tank to the trailer, chaing is not a problem, but the turnbuckles (or rachet tighenters) are another story, what do you all use to te down a tank to a trailer, rail car, etc

cheers again

Jason

I think the Voyager PE set for the Fransiska has them, but will have to check.

Hi!
In Germany these sets are a combination of chain and some device for tensioning.

MR Modellbau has them:

http://www.mrmodellbau.com/_shop/product_info.php?info=p512_Zurrketten-und-Spannschloesser-SLT-Elefant.html

Actually, quality and reliability in delivery are very different with MR Modellbau. If you are lucky, you would get what you ordered in a good quality.

You may also look at some pictures of the chains and scratchbuild the chain tensioner.
