Hey Matt, Nice work! The Taco Beetle is a recent favourite of mine - such a pity the company that originally released these doesn't seem to have released many more 1:35 scale kits Once again, nice work, mate! Rudi |

That's a neat little kit! Any finishing work or added details on it at all? Nice paint on it |

Thanks guys. Nothing added to it, strictly OOB. I still need to add a grab handle on the hatch for the cupola and the engine cover. Just realized that while looking at the pics. If you go to www.2046.com and look in the shop tab under the GK robot section, there is a company called Junk Rock Tank that has a couple more offered in 1/35 scale. Not a lot, but at least two more than I can think of. Only problem is that they are pre-order status currently. Thanks again for the kudos. "Q" |

The company that released it, as an original, makes 8 kits in the line. Go to the Junk Tank Rock homepage at http://members.ytv.home.ne.jp/j.t.r/page3.html for more info. The reason JTR doesn't sell this kit outside Japan is that it is worried about recasting. If you want an original, find a friend in Japan. If you buy a Taco Beetle kit from a company outside Japan it's likely to be a recast. Originals come in a small white thick cardboard box with a single color sticker. The pieces should be molded in a medium grey resin and be packaged in multiple plastic bags. |

Are JTR still in business? I'm sure I read somewhere that they'd closed. I'm hoping it was nothing more than rumour and speculation. Quoted Text

Ironically that's probably one of the reasons the recast kits of this kit sell so well. It's really a tough situation for ligit modellers trying to get one of these. p.s. you're in Japan aren't you? |

Modellers trying to get these kits need to weigh their own desire for the kit against the possibility that they are helping to drive the company that makes it out of business. You don't kill the goose that lays the golden eggs. JTR are still in business and were present at the last WonderFestival in Makuhari. Yes, I'm back in Japan for a short time. I leave in about a week. Just time to shop. |

Completely agree - and the very reason I haven't bought a kit yet. Good to hear JTR are still going at it |
