for on this day in 1943, the mighty 56th Fighter Group became the first in the 8th Air Force to reach the milestone of 100 enemy aircraft knocked out of the sky. Cave Tonitrum!

An anniversary certainly worthy of note Zack. The intention was to hit the 100 mark by Sadie Hawkins day, the origin of which can be found in the Dogpatch cartoon series.(On the same day in 1964 I arrived!)
