I'm in the process of superdetailing my Revel x-wing fighter. So with that in mind I would like to know if ANYONE knows ANYTHING about the compartment hatches,I have some questions for you guys.
1.Do the hatches open up or open down?
2.If they don't open up or down, are they just plates that are bolted on?
I hope you guys can help since the last time I posted a question here about the x-wing,I got no replies. So I hope some of you sci-fi/star wars fans can help.
Thank you.

have a look for those "star wars visual encyclopedia books", they have cut away diagrams of most of the ships from the film.

from what i have seen the panels are totally removable and might not be hinged in the manner that you describe.

While not a model, I have the Code 3 X-wing and you can remove the panels to expose the compartments. The panels are held on by magnets. I have the Find Molds 1/48 X-wing and was thinking of doing the same thing for the landing gear.
