Mike, i Think the camouflage looks good. Would be an effective camouflage on a spinning soucer.

Looking forward to see it finished

I have submitted a proposal for Sci-Fi IV. It is to start 1st july 2018.

This way we finish the campaign this year and there is only a minimal overlap with the Godzilla campaign.

Great Entries to all. Very nice work.

Jesper, I would definitely be interested in Sci-Fi IV, since I had to bail on Sci-Fi II. We moved house and I finally have opportunity for a proper modelling space, which I'm currently organizing. I would love to resurrect my abandoned snowspeeder project.

Hi Zon

Congrats on the new house and modelling area. I will submit a Sci-Fi IV at some point. Probably wait until the Godzilla campaign is finished or almost finished - maybe second half of 2018.

As usual unfinished builds from Sci-Fi I/II/III will be allowed in Sci-Fi IV no matter how the build has progressed.

thanks for hosting the campaign and i look forward to the next one!

Yes Jesper, thanks for Sci-Fi III! I wasn't much of a Sci-Fi builder but your campaigns have changed that. Hope there's a Sci-Fi IV sometimes in 2018; you've done a great job on these campaigns.
Now on to the Godzilla campaign.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

It is great to see some more traffic on this part of the forum. The campaigns certainly help.
If people are up for it, I will certainly run a Sci-Fi IV. Maybe after the Godzilla campaign or slightly overlapping.

Brent, no ribbons yet.

A couple of the participants requested an extension until 1st february, so I reward ribbons at that time to make it easier.

However, it is possible to award ribbons more than once, so if you cannot wait I can award some now and some in february.

Thanks Shell, I was able to figure it out when I loaded them into the Campaign Gallery.
Next up is yet another AT-ST in WIF Soviet markings, I'm building the old MPC kit for the "150-" campaign.
Take care,

Howdy Y'all
Roger, roger, the AT-ST is completed.
Imperial Assault 28mm 'General Weiss' built as a plain AT-ST, the General Weiss figure was too "soft" to mess with.

I'm sorry the photos come out sideways (landscape), I don't know how to post them so they come out as portrait orientation.
This was a fun build, thanks Jesper for the Sci-Fi III campaign.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Howdy Y'all
I'm starting to see the finish line.

I need to do some weathering/wash and then a flat coat before I call this one done. I'm shooting to get this done before the deadline.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

David, beautiful entry! The weathering looks Awesome.

Alex, great job on the robot! The paint job on both the interior and exterior looks great. Only now do I realize how huge it is. Well done !

Thanks Jesper, that was my last build completed for 2017. a short break for the christmas period and then back in the saddle for 2018!

Time to wrap this bad boy up.

I know it's been a while so a reminder...a 1/20 Bandai Brutish Dog, built with a 1/35 interior. The premise is, aliens invade Earth circa 1944. They are a vampiric race that use planets as farms. Earth is such a farm, but he vampires lost contact ages ago. Now, they are back and want to harvest and cultivate/manage the planet.

Assembly was mostly done in the last update. I did go back and change the markings. I took a pair of 14th Panzer Div. insignias and turned them sideways to make a trio-diamond insignia. The white circle with diamond...I'm not sure what unit that is for.
sci-fi-3_46

The cockpit was pretty empty in spots so I added some more detail. I think t gives it a tighter appearance. And I added some detail under the hatch lid. Further down, you'll see I added some more detail to the floorboard area.
sci-fi-3_47

The pilot. I modified a Masterbox female figure....using Mechwarrior pilots as my primary influence. I used styrene strips to give her body-armor, boots, and belt. The weapon is a modified MG pistol from the old Italeri Accessories set. The head is from the Dragon Vietnam Helicopter crew set. I added styrene bits to change the shape of the helmet. The face was reworked to soften her features some...with so-so results. I painted her skin sky-blue...because she's an alien. Her pose will be changed several times....see the picture further down.
sci-fi-3_48

Weathered and drybrushed.

A final, teaser shot for scale using the mech-troops. These were modified 1/32 Terminator figures from Pegasus.
sci-fi-3_56

And a close-up with some more Vampire Alien Ladies (VALs) included for size comparison.
sci-fi-3_57

And I am calling this one done.

I really enjoyed the build and look forward to further developing this VAL theme...and just see where it all goes. I'm up for another installment of SciFi/Alt History Campaigning...I think we'll be going to Mars for that one though.

Well here is its, the Star Wars Gonk droid!

unlike those astromecs, they don't get to swan around the galaxy on the back of an x-wing fighter but instead do all the mundane work like providing power to ground crews to help them repair ships and computer... never seeing any of the glory that the other droids do.

and so here is my rendition of an under loved power droid or gonk droid. he's painted in an off white colour which would have acted as camouflage back the planet Hoth but as the fight against the empire raged through the cleaning and maintenance has been sorely neglected.
