I am planning to do some Star Wars stuff for this campaign. Maybe some rebel troops from the fantasy flight Star Wars game or maybe some Bandai stuff.

More to follow

Hi Jesper. There is a Thread that called for ribbons to be designed for various builds coming up. I put up 4 suggestions for this group build if you are interested:

Unless something changes, I plan on converting some Meng Bomb Squad techs into astronauts, exploring Mars (maybe). They come across a strange set of ruins. Entering, they find ... (dramatic pause)...TERROR!!!
I picked up something that will be the immediate terror. I'll keep it a secret for now. It'll be used not as intended and there'll be something LifeForce-ish as well...and I don't mean Patrick Stewart. I want to play with some build ideas and I think this is a good candidate.

It'll be good to start.

As far as ribbons, I'd go with #4. It's pretty non-specific and the IV is easily seen.

Peter, thanks for sharing.

I really like the forth one, so decided to go with that. Thanks a lot for the help to whomever designed this.

Here's what i'm planing on building. some Gundam grunt suits.
The main will be the GM-79 Space commander type, as the original release of this GM variant from 1989 was the first gundam kit i ever built as a kid.
and after that I'll go for another MS-06 ZakuII even though I just finished one, this guy is a newer kit and represents the main stay of the ZakuII the F type

Howdy Y'all
I picked up a Bat Boat model on sale at HobbyLobby. This is the kit I'll build for this campaign.

I built this kit about 15 years ago, maybe longer than that. They've added a "Gotham City" backdrop. Here's what the back of the box looks like.

Here's the contents.

Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Thanks Casey. I want to do a much better job than I did 15 years ago. Gotta start by stripping off the chrome on some of the parts. I'll need to do some research before I start. I don't remember which movie had the BatBoat.
Take care,

Nice choice, Don. I do not remember the movie either.

Looking forward to see what you do with this one. Painting different shades of black is not always easy

Thats always the fun part, going back to something you did years ago and seeing how much you improved. kind of the same boat for me and the GM-79. Still have the 1989, one i build as a kid, where i built it right out of the box no paint, twisted the parts of the runners and misapplied the stickers. Though this one is slightly more advanced in the articulation, parts wise its not that different for the old kit. good thing about bandai is they reprint their old kits every so often so I have a copy of the 1989 kit on backorder. just hope the rotations for its reissue isn't to long

Good to see this one kicking off.

It's the future and Earth has begun terraforming Mars. The process is still centuries from being done...the atmosphere still cannot support life. Work crews have been placed to maintain the terraforming machines.
One of these crews come across a set of ruins. They begin searching them on their off-time, hoping to make a fortune. The two are able to gain access. The ruins are not empty.
The vampire women are here, in stasis. They left behind caretaker robots to tend to their needs while they slept.

The astro-workers will be made by converting Meng's Bomb Tech figures. I have been wanting to do this conversion for quite a while, even buying a second figure set.
sci-fi-4_00a

For the caretaker/defensive robot I'm using the robot from MasterBox's "Back Off!" set from their Edge of the Universe Series of figures. It's a 1/24 scale set but the robot is small enough to work well with the 1/35 bombtech/astronaughts.
The rifle lady will probably be used in a backup plan...but more on that later.
The vampire ladies probably won't be seen. They'll be in stasis pods. I'm hoping to play with lighting effects. If this doesn't work, I have a backup plan.
sci-fi-4_00b

The backup plan is set on a colony planet. Humans have made contact with alien life and initiated into a planetary confederation type organization. The aliens see Terrans as immature but feel they would be served to initiate them early and guide them into maturity.
This colony is a mutual project. Outside of the spaceport cities, it's a lawless land. The local authorities enlist bounty hunters dubbed Marshalls and Rangers to hunt down criminals and keep the peace.
Our shooter from "Back Off!" is part of a Ranger Squad. She works with her brother, as well as robot and aliens that I haven't worked out much details on.

For the brother and some of the Squad I'll use the Master Box "Wow, I Like it" Figure Set. And I'd use the figures from the Bandai Brutish Dog kit for other members.
Originally, I thought about posing them in a cantina collecting a bounty. Then, I remembered the pilot seat from the Bandai kit and pilot. They may be in a spacecraft or some sort of landbound vehicle. These are 1/20 and 1/24 scale figures so it'll be large.

sci-fi-4_00d

Anyway, I'll try to get started in the next day or two.

Hi all,

well this time around i'm going for the alternative history in the shape of a WW2 German flying saucer from Pegasus in 1/144 scale called the Haunebe 2

as you can see in these pictures the box is unopened until today!

I'm building Industria Mechanika's Walrus:

It's an armoured personnel carrier used by private security contractor, and about same size as A7V tank, so it's quite large for an APC. There's some armor and some sort of battering device at front. It doesn't look very off road cabable and armament is on lighter side (two twin-barreled light machine guns at front and possibly roof mounted grenade launcher) so it's not for serious military operations. I'm getting a feeling that it's more suited for dealing with low intensity threats in urban environment.

The kit is in 1/35 and it's resin: one large casting for hull, and couple of dozen smaller parts. From build point of view it's mainly cleaning up the parts and painting. There are four figures included with varying sets of armor and guns, which is fine for a private company. I'll probably use at least one to give scale to the vehicle.

Paid, welcome onboard! An interesting kit for sure. A good canvas for some urban camo.

Looking forward to see more

In what may be the quickest incident of plans-changing...change of plans.

Instead of the terror on Mars scenario, I'll be doing a more peaceful, hopeful scenario. The reason? I found myself falling into an "over-doing mode". Basically, I was creating more problems and questions than I was solving and answering. I'm bad about doing that. I decided to scale things back and do something nice.

The story is a work detail of workers on Mars. They are part of the terra-form workers. Part of their job is to perform maintenance on a sector of the planet's. It'll be the duo, a scratchbuilt atmosphere generator station, and a scratchbuilt rover type vehicle on a Mars based diorama base. No monsters, alien vampire ladies, or bad SiFi Network plotlines.

I'm still hoping to do the space Marshall/BountyHunter team idea. That'll be a big project. I'll at least try to get the figures done for that one this year.

Alex,
Sounds like an interesting build, I'll look forward to it. I always wondered how Earth would colonize Mars.
Take care,
