While I'm not a big fan of Games Workshop's Taurox kit out of the box, it's proven to be a great kit for conversions. Here are photos of three different conversions I did over a couple weeks. Since this is Imperial Guard hardware, the hardest part of doing multiple conversions was maintaining a certain degree of uniformity between the three vehicles.

Here's a fast recon half-track with a heavy bolter:

The half-track part is scratchbuilt or part of the kit?

That part is scratch built - with parts from an old 1/35 T-55 model kit.

Here's the uniformity test. Do they look like they could have rolled off the same assembly line?

Games Workshop's Chimera APC kit is also a great base for conversion. Here's a Chimera converted to an engineer's bridging vehicle. The bridge has multiple hinges and deploys.

Here is a Chimera engineer vehicle. This was one of the more labor intensive conversions.
