Beautiful, Ron! Looks really great - the angles are just right to give the impression of weightlessness.

Thanks for participating.

Ok, i know i am a late start to this campaign but i had to clear the bench and also i got this kit for an Xmas present today, so here is my Bandai Super Star Destroyer kit, as you can see from the phone picture of the date and time stamp as well as the fact that it is still in it's clear plastic wrapping.

Finally got some solid bench time to start my entry for this campaign. I had ambitions of kit bashing some WW2 German tanks for a ‘what if’ but opted to go with an easier option given my limited time.

My entry is the 1/4105 scale Battlestar Pegasus from Moebius Models. I considered buying the PE upgrade set but decided to just build it OOB.

Howdy Y'all
I did some painting on my pair AT-M6 walkers and stained and coated the base. I stained it to put some moisture in the dry wood and then spayed it with polyurethane semi-gloss.

Next up, I would like to use some "grime for panzer gray" steaking on the walkers. I'll also mask the edges of the base to preserve some wood grain and then spray the surface with auto gray primer before trying to re-create the surface of Crait. Making slow progress.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

well i've been throwing the paint about and have been spraying the tamiya german grey onto the recessed areas to see what it looks like. i kinda like the hint of blue in which is similar to how the ship appeared on the screen, althought it was a similar colour to the standard star destroyers, the blue hue was caused by the blue screen compilation from the original film making process.

Refined my backstory alittle...

Nazis in the Arctic - This one has been floating around the internet for several years.
During WW2 the Germans went on an expedition to the North Pole code named “Schatzgraber” or “Treasure Hunter” for weather forecasting. That was a cover because they were actually looking for Ancient Aliens. And they found them !

So for my Sci-Fi / What If, I'm doing a scrap box build.
The remnants of few sets of Tamiya 1/48 scale German figures.
Also few Warhammer 40K figures left over from my kids builds.
A scratched Arctic Armored Heavy Crane.
And an igloo.

The obligatory Starting Sketch.

Laying out / sizing the base with igloo. Started the Crane.
And few figures for scale. Final figures will be a mix of soldiers and scientists.

Nearly done with assembly; have to paint the cockpit before I install it and mask the canopy for painting as well. My plan is to get it completely together, then gloss coat/decal/final coat. A little mild weathering with pigments and she will be done. The lights went in fairly easily, although I did break a lead. And for the first time in 55 years of life, I soldered a connection.

Nice work on the star destroyer, David.

Tom, Great idea. You should check out the Dust 1947 universe. Here the Germans also finds aliens in the arctic and WWII is still in full swing in 1947 with alien technology. Looking forward to see more!

Shell, looking great! Love the lighting - let us see a picture with lights dimmed when you are done.

Tamiya primer and Vallejo black red 70.859.

I am using Vallejo SBS by Angel Giraldez that comes in the paint set as a guide. I already changed up the primer color from black to white. Angel’s YouTube video is very similar to the SBS but he uses a few different colors between the two. I will probably add a few additional colors for more details.

ok so most of the painting has been done, i now have to assemble the ship then give it a clear coat from a spray can so that i can seal all the paint in before using enamel washes.
