Since I made good progress this weekend, to the point of being done with the sculpture of Ewok & Friend, I thought I'd post a picture of the figure so far.

All in all, I'm very happy with how the various elements came together in this composition. I was able to picture how things should look, and (surprise, surprise) I was able to make the sculpture match. This is my first full figure sculpture, heck, it's my first sculpture of any sort (except for the hands).

The storyline goes kind of like this:
About 30 years after the Ewoks were instrumental in defeating the Emperor's Finest on the moon of Endor, the place had become a galactic backwater again. The Ewoks carried on life as usual, exploring the bits of debris that were occasionally discovered after the huge battle fought in the system.

Sadly, there was an inimical lifeform that had survived the planetfall of a hulk. In time, it was discovered by the Ewoks, who took it in in their usual curious stride. In what was to become one of the most bitter ironies of the galaxy, the Ewoks, who with their primitive weaponry had defeated the best hardware the Empire could muster, were in short order wiped out by a lifeform with no technology whatsoever. Sure, the rocks dropped from gliders and swinging logs were able to stem the tide for about 3 minutes, but the battle was lost from the beginning.

The New Republic eventually discovered that the moon had been entirely overrun by the alien lifeforms, but being essentially benevolant, they did not allow the moon to be sterilized. A strict quarantine was imposed...

In summation, the figure is that of an Ewok, with an alien facehugger doing its thing.

Enjoy the figure, and now I'm off to shop for a spaceship kit to cannibalize for the derelict!

Hee hee hee!!!! LOL!!!! :-) :-) :-)

That's it! Give the man an award!!! :-)

That is too funny! For some reason, seeing the spear lying next to the fallen Ewok added an extra bit of comedy... Thanks for the laugh!

Good job making the Ewok looking sufficently furry, too.

Ditto - for me too! I thought the Ewok sprawled on the workbench with the spear lying next to him was great. Almost spilled my coffee onto my lap. Great Job!

We've seen what happens when an Alien has a human host.
We've seen what happens when an Alien has a canine host.
But an Alien from an Ewok host?

That's scary!!!

I went to my local KayBee clearance shop, and found the ST Kazon ship for $3.97. Can't beat that for a derelict, and it also will complete my Triple Crown - one diorama with elements from all three movies!

I'll post pictures on Sunday to show progress.
