The first Herpa miniature models are released in white and blue metallic. An impressive model with fine plastic detail and excellent finishing, it features lenses for headlights and brake lights, a detailed interior, and applied side view mirrors.

Mercedes-Benz SLS
Following the introduction of their SLS AMG Coupé, the Mercedes-Benz Roadster was premiered at the IAA 2011. Bestowed the title of Supercar, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster are at the top of the luxury high-performance pyramid.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is a luxury grand tourer automobile developed by Mercedes-Benz AMG to replace the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. The car is the first Mercedes automobile designed in-house by AMG and is described by Mercedes as a spiritual successor to the 300SL Gullwing. The vehicle was unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show.

The SLS AMG is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds, and can reach an electronically limited top speed of 197 mph (317 km/h) (figures are provisional.)

The SLS AMG is designed to be a modern 300SL Gullwing revival. The car has a long hood, the passenger compartment is close to the rear axle and the rear of the car is short. The SLS AMG will also adapt the feature of wing doors that will swing open upwards on gas struts, not in a mix of upwards and forward like the SLR. The doors must be closed manually as AMG engineers decided against auto-closing systems because the systems would have added 90 pounds (41 kg) to the car. In case of a roll-over, the doors can be fully detached to allow the occupants to leave the vehicle.*

Mercedes-Benz SLS
Herpa currently catalogs 1534 Mercedes-Benz models of all types, including 4 SLS models.

Your Supercar model is fully assembled and packed in a light plastic form-fitted tray secured in a light plastic box. A holographic Daimler licensing tag is on one end.

I found no flaws in the molding or assembly. The exterior features fine recessed lines for doors and hoods and panels. While the underside has basic molded detailed, the tires have nice tread detail. The rakish windshield is free of distortion.

Individual clear lenses simulate the headlights and tinted lenses simulate the tail lights.

Separate side view mirrors are attached. Soft plastic tires encompass the rims. They display good detail.

The interior features bucket seats, the steering wheel, console, rear-view mirror, stick shift and dashboard detailing. It looks like the rearview mirror even has a simulated reflective surface!

Paint and Finish

This model is beautifully finished with a glossy weiß / white exterior. It is also available in blau metallic / blue metallic. A chrome Mercedes-Benz logo emblazons the grille and another is stamp painted on the hood. These emblems and markings are sharply printed and not decals. Herpa does not use decals. The paint is thin, glass-smooth, and opaque.

Herpa has released another super model of a beautiful Supercar. This M-B SLS AMG Roadster is an impressive model with fine plastic detail and excellent finishing. It features lenses for headlights and brake lights, a detailed interior, and applied side view mirrors. Printing is sharp. I happily recommended this model for collectors, model railroaders, and diorama makers.
