Six times a year Herpa publishes their flagship magazine DER MASS:STAB Modellfahrzeug-Magazin. Issue 2/April 2013 is full of interesting and detailed models in HO, N and even O scale, plus modeling stories for spring.

First, Herpa Car Club news announces a new model, the vintage Mercedes-Benz 311 canvas cover trailer "Schmidt Gevelsberg". Only 500 of these gems will be available to club members (Item: 909495). Next, news that DER MASS:STAB will also be available on-line as an iPad app. Also editorials and commentary.

M-B premiers the new 2013 Arcos heavy construction truck. Herpa showcases the models developed in concert with M-B. This story showcases the vehicle and the Herpa models forthcoming.

From Small Cars To Giant Crane (Vom Kleinstwagen Zum Riesenkran)
This section shows brand new Herpa models. A diorama takes us back to an East Germany street scene, showing Herpa's Framo, Heinkel, and Zündapp cars and trucks. Components of their upcoming sectional heavy crane is revealed, as are new hi-cubes, VW Golfs, Goldhofer lowboys, Volvo semi tractors, and more!

I. Langer Nordmann
Big and yellow with dynamic custom artwork is this Scania R730 Topline Gigaliner tandem truck "Nordic Power." This impressive machine is modeled from Jimmie Karlsson Transport AB, Orebro. It has a custom interior by Ellbe Truck Interiors. Herpa showcases this truck as item 301 947, a special new model.

II. The Pothole Detector (Das Schlaglochsuchgerät)
The story of the Heinkel Kabine. This intriguing post-war 3-wheeled vehicle is featured in detail and with prototype photos.

III. An Opel in Disguise (Ein Opel in Verkleidung)
Russian copy of the Opel, the Moskwitsch, profiled and shown as the Herpa model.

1. Looking Into the Future (Blick In Die Zukunft)
Modeler Thomas Rutzenhofer converts BMW sedans into 2er Coupés.

2. The Rolling Office(Das Rollende Büro)
Modifying a Mewrcedes-Benz Sprinter for a diorama of the Federal Office for Goods Transport, known by the acronym BAG, uses for truck inspections on German motorways, with vehicles equipped with the appropriate equipment.

3. Fascination Bus (Faszination Omnibus)
Modeler Markus Hölzl and his collection of custom tour buses.

I. Diorama Contest 2013: Win Prizes Worth From 500 € (Dioramenwettbewerb 2013: Gewinnen Sie Preise Im Wert Von 500 Euro)
A dioramas with a list of models and materials used: The Old Coach House (Die Alte Remise): Using a kit of a dilapidated garage by the company Model Air, modeler Peter Schmäring creates a diorama using models, including Herpa's McCormisk D326 tractor and Agricultural Slurry Trailer (Both reviewed here at RRM!).

II. Circus Niconelli Comes to Chefhausen (Niconelli In Chefhausen)
Nico Bundt creates another large and intricate diorama featuring his Circus Niconelli presented in six pages. The scene is of the raising of the big top tent in a common area in the center of the village of Chefhausen. The thrill and bustle of the circus contrasts with mini-scenes of a happy wedding, a market, and a somber funeral.

Finally: Herpa includes a centerfold of catalogs of various model companies, a section on book reviews, upcoming events, previews of the next DER MASS:STAB, and Herpa Club news. Also included:
