Ahoy mates!
Keeping in continuance with our new, "MSW Community Build Contest" we will also be running a similar build contest between all of our MSW staff, in the "Shipwrights Staffers Build Contest!"
The contest will have the same basic set of rules and regulations, with one small twist....this contest will be judged by YOU, the members only club of MSW!
So c'mon, mates, sign up for the "Community Build Contest" and build a model along with us!

Ok Guys!!
As you see, we staffers will have our own joy, since we cannot compete on the real competition, but we have a chance to build a model under the same rules!
And you will have the taste of judging the entries
A good chance to have some weight over your shoulders.
I hope you all enjoy this - and see that we staffers, can also build some ships!
Cheers,
Rui

James,
Yes, we will have an OOB category. I am doing the Trumpeter 1/350 USS Sullivans, to spice it up, I will use one of Gators Masks is he has one for her.
I am looking forward to it.

Mind you if the Akagi shows up before the contest.... there could be a change of plans

Hi Bruce!

Ahoy, mates!
Yes, on this day, I personally vow to set aside my ever-mounting workload, and actually clear the dust off of my bench top and start a new build!
In the slipway for me, full build category, a kit that I've been anticipating building since the early release news, BattleFleet Models 1/700 Scale full resin kit, ATF FLEET OCEAN TUG, # BFM708 (with a couple slight modifications), focusing upon the Penguin Class Submarine Rescue Ship, Penguin (ASR-12) as my choice of variants................

Mark,
Is this contest only open to MSW staff? Or all KitMaker staff?
While they cannot take part in your community contest, I'm sure there'd be a few keen to take part in the staff build...
I actually would have liked to see this as a staff group build. Would love to see you all build the same kit and see how you all interpret it

Ahoy Rudi!

This particular contest has been marked for MSW staffers only, but a "Kitmaker Staff Build Contest" is quite an interesting concept mate...t'will definitely give us some food for thought for the future, though! Thanks for the interest and input, my friend...........

I've made my decision. I'll be building Hasegawa's 1/700 IJN Akagi as a full build.

I'll be using Eduard's Akagi Upgrade set, GMM Aircraft Set and Lion Roar's sandbag set.

Hey Gator,
Why not build her with Lion Roar's crazy upgrade set that includes PE deck, resin island, etc.? I have the Hiryu set, but I wanna see that Akagi set in action. And the best way to do that is with OPM (Other People's Money).

Kidding! Anyways, looking forward to seeing what you guys produce.

That would be too easy.

And way too expensive.

After much debate and berating by certain people I decided to put on big boy pants and make the jump into a full build on the Sullivans. Since I have a year to work on her, I think I can do it.

Well I've added Loose Cannon's resin replacement island to my Akagi build. I'm going to order all four (Akagi, Kaga, Soryu and Hiryu) because I will eventually do all four.
