Hello!

Universal Century Gundam enthisiasts!

You've gotta check out this site!

It's in Japanese though, (I think...) It's got a large Gundam diorama....

It's a battle dio...A Mobile Suit war dio.....

Looks very very cool..*I'm drooling..

GUNDAM DIO

and if you navigate through the pages, you'll also get to see a "Gundam Musuem" of some sort - with a 1:1 scale Gundam/Zaku II head...

And a lot of spiffy CG's and models..^_^

Some quite nice stuff in the Dio. I particularly like the robot-type-thingy in the river. Very emmm...unusual but thanx for drawing it to our attention.. Pardon my ignorance but what is Gundam? Yours confused (and no doubt senile), Jim

From the looks of it, I say the Zakus are winning and the RXs are losing. But that's hard to tell... Still, one can decipher the story visually even if one can't read Japanese or downloaded the translator.

It's like WWII with the Zakus being the Tigers and the RXs being the Shermans and hoping to win via superior numbers in a MOUT setting. Neat!

Indeed, it's one of the best Gundam dioramas I've ever seen.

GUNDAM is a Sci-Fi Japanese animation about robots. Aired at around 1979...^_^

You could read more about the UC. GUNDAM story at Gundamofficial.com

It's great! You should try watching...^_^

Good Luck!

Yeah... you might say that. Each of those 200 Mobile Suits is a 1/144 kit, and the Mobile Suits would each be roughly 60 feet tall IRL. Each of those kits is 5 to 6 inches tall. I'd guess that dio easily covers several square meters.

That 1:1 Gundam head was actually a shooting gallery sort of setup, with paper targets of Doms, Goufs and a Zaku II. You can see the kid at the video screen controlling it in the 8th pic on the left.

If you want something really amazing, check these out:

G-System

Specifically, their 1/100 Twin Tower Jagd Mirage "Demon" (5 feet 8 inches tall), and 1/35 EX-S Gundam (only 3 feet, 10 inches, but 3 times bulkier), both in resin! Respective prices: $968 US and $1730 US, before shipping. #:-)

Hmm...I don't think so... The heights of the mobile suits in the dio do not exceed 20m..(Well, that's what the MS Biglist said..)

Usually, Mobile Suits exceeding around 50m are classified as Mobile Armor already...^_^

Thanks...

Amazing diorama! I wonder why the gun turrets are pointing into the town instead of defending the town. My hat's off to the builders of this diorama, superb work.

You're quite right - they don't exceed 20m. the GM's measure up at 18.5 meters, as does the lone Gundam. The Guncannon is a bit shorter at 18.1 meters. The Zaku II's are 17.5 meters, and the taller Gouf is 18.7 meters. The GM Ground Types and GM Snipers are 18 meters even, and the Gundam Ground types are 18.2 meters. The Z'goks are 18.4 meters.

That translates to a height range of 58.3 feet for the Zaku II's, 61.6 feet for the GM's and 62.3 feet for the Gouf, the tallest of the lot. 20 meters is actually 66.6 feet. It seems that you may have mixed up feet and meters in my post.

FYI, the largest mobile suit (to my knowledge) is the Sazabi, at 25.6 meters or 85.3 feet tall. anything beyond this is classified as a Mobile Armor.

Thats very impressive indeed I got the impression in the photos where ranks of Gundam with Red /Yellow cross shields (sorry I don't know the types) looked like a medeival battlefield.
