The paint is Alclad aluminum over a gloss black primercoat. For the yellow sections I always prime with flat White. Masking was very necissary, but not complicated. Future was used to shine it up a bit .A very tight pinwash was used with flat black. The exhaust cone recieved an overspray of tamiya "smoke"
Everyone is raving about the engineering of Tamiya kits, and rightfully so. I must say that these kits equal or surpass Tamiyas engineering standards, as I hardly had need to use glue on this kit at all, the tolerances were so good.
This model took Gold for Sci-fi at the Wellcom show in Guelph this year.

nice buildup. What did you use for paint?
Masked off the yellow or molded in color?
The EX-series kits can be pricey, but come out looking great with a little care and paint.
I love the way Bandai engineers their kits so that most seam lines are hidden.
