Historicus Forma Artist Q&A

The Historicus Forma (HFModeling.com) Artist Q&A is an interview with artists of the historical figure modelling world. These artists may include sculptors and painters; commercial and private modellers; well-known and lesser-known artists. Whoever they may be, the artists featured in Historicus Formaís Artist Q&A are highly respected members of our global community; people who have greatly influenced our world in their own way. As we honour these artists with this humble Q&A and photo feature, they honour us by sharing a piece of their world.

In this edition we chat to Stephen Mallia, Maltese master modeller extraordinaire.

About me

I was born on the 7th July 1964, so at the time of writing Iím 43 years old. I come from Malta and until I got married in 1989 I lived in the capital Valletta. After marrying my wife Sina we moved to Guardamangia (or Gwardamanġia), a town just outside Valletta. We have two kids, Shirley (16yrs) and Sean (10 yrs.).

For 23 years I have been a member of the Malta Police Force and have another 2 years before I can retire. As you may expect this is not an easy job but very satisfying.

As for other interests, Iím very much into sports and like to watch practically any sports. I have practiced soccer, tennis, snooker and some athletics in my schooldays. In fact I try to practice tennis at least once a week to help my fitness. Iím also a qualified soccer coach.

Great interview! I've had the pleasure of meeting Stephen several times now at MFCA in Philadelphia and I can say that he has always been friendly and free with his help. I don't think that there is anything that he wouldn't be willing to share to help out us mere mortals Thanks for the insite into this wonderful member of our hobby family. Craig

I would like to add that I have had the pleasure of knowing Sleeping Beauty ( ) for several years and they have been a pleasure. He also has a Great Bday but there is a fault to this guy.............his picture taking!! I have several of his figures here with me and the pictures that he takes do not do them justice! I would have to say that Stephen really works hard at his craft and that his figures are improving with leaps and bounds! Congrads buddy and look forward to seeing you again. Joe
