Hataka Hobby have announced their first set of acrylic paints designed for sci-fi subjects. With a new clutch of Maschinen Krieger kits on show at Nürnberg, the timing could hardly be better.
We are off to Nürnberg Toy Fair 2016, but before we go there – the final January surprise must be announced!

HTK-AS41 “Combat Mechas & Robots paint set” contains a careful selection of colours for achieving a variety of military camouflage schemes on sci-fi humanoid combat machines (both manned mechas and remotely controlled combat robots).

In order to achieve a realistic camouflage effect on a combat mecha / robot one should start with airbrushing an overall base coat of HTK-A901 Mecha Black Grey onto the model. Afterwards a thin coat of HTK-A904 Mecha Grey Base should be gently applied, followed by HTK-A905 Mecha Grey Shadow spayed over less shaded parts of the model. Using the same two-step technique one should apply camouflage patterns of HTK-A906 Mecha Green Base and HTK-A907 Mecha Green Flash.

HTK-A104 Traffic Yellow paint can be used for any high-vis identification markings of your combat machine. HTK-A902 Mecha Red Oxide can be used to imitate metal elements that were not painted and left in factory primer finish, while HTK-A903 Mecha Metallic Blue is perfect for lacquered metal elements.

Enjoy! And stay tuned for more news in February!
