1/35 now that's what I want 1/144 is not for me

I am looking forward to the new SW-kits but I am not really thrilled. Because Dragon is always good for a slopy performance - in contrast to Bandai or Fine Molds. At first sight the AT-AT looks awsome. But a closer look shows the inaccuracy of the upcoming kit. For example the pylons don't convince. The lower section appears to be out of scale, the both discs should be more detailed and be flat, some other details are missing. For a newly designed kit in this scale it is a little bit disappointing. That's not my idea of quality management. Hopefully they will revise the prototype, but I don't believe that the final product gonna be corrected.

If Dragon prices them too high not many people are going to be able to get them, the ones that really want the kits and are prepared to pay silly money are also the ones that are looking for them to be 99.9% accurate. If these kits arnt accurate and too expensive they will be a flop. Plus Bandai or another future license holder may make better/cheaper models. If Bandai said they were making a 1/35 AT-ST, AT-AT and Snowspeeder it would be game over for Dragon.

Will be interesting to see what figures they come it with as well. Wonder if any aftermarket guys will risk launching any? I'd say Disney would be on to everyone of them if they did?

The front of the snowspeeder is too long, see this screencap from the film LINK When measured in pic above, the sloping front of the cockpit canopy is only slightly shorter (about 1/5th) than the adjoining front ends length. On the prototype its way longer! Also if they can slide the mount for the front of the gunbarrel up to meet the side of the cockpit ( ref: LINK ) that should (along with straighter gun barrels) also toe-in the gun barrels. Hopefully they will adjust this on the prototype or real model as id like to buy two, but as it is i wont buy any. Those changes should be easy to fix in a 3D program AND it will save plastic making them cheaper to manufacture. It would be a WIN - WIN for everyone!

Personally, I'd love Tamiya to do 1/35 scale Star Wars figures at this point; more realistic postures, proportions, and clothing folds all thanks to 3D-scanning. Regardless, whichever kit company uses a 3D-scanner on people is fair game. Certainly not the most accurate Star Wars kit as far as the de-facto accuracy standards are concerned. Hard to say that there's hope of any adjustment, normally, little actually gets changed after the prototype stage.

I agree theres not much hope, im hoping Dragon put these Protos out there to get feedback, if Dragon dont do a good enough job there leaving the door wide open for a competitor to build a more accurate kit which will blow them out of the water. Also bean counters usually have the final say, saving plastic shortening the front end makes financial sense. If Bandai anounced they were scaling up their Snowspeeder and AT-ST to 1/35 how many people would buy the Dragon kits? Some people dont know about Ebay/Amazon and if Dragon reboxed as Revell they would sell some for sure, but Dragon paving the way and then letting a competitor steal the thunder and sales wouldnt be the smartest thing.
