About Bud1
Hi, I became interested in 1/35 armour in 2003 after many years off from making models. I remember building an Airfix Ford Mk1 Cortina(?) with my Dad when I was very young - we made a mess and had a great time! I loved building Airfix tanks and aircraft as a kid, as well as the occasional battleship, car, figure, sci-fi kit, anything I could afford really. Over the years, I lost interest apart from a few Tamiya motorcycles and F1 cars - Tamiya's Jordan 191 brought me out of retirement briefly in the early 90's. Browsing this site and a few others got me interested in armour again and led to the purchase of some cheap 1/35 kits and I havn't looked back since. I began with German WW2 stuff and that's where my main interest lies but I'm also interested in the IDF and Arab nations' armour and Irish vehicles, especially the older ones. Thanks to all the kind and patient folks on here who took the time to answer questions, post reference photos and offer advice, I am still enjoying making armour models. Regards, Rich
